GEOMETRÍAS INTERMEDIAS
Geometrías Intermedias stems from the intersection between photography, architecture, and abstract painting, creating a sensory and intuitive symbiosis. These works celebrate the dynamism of forms, offering a new perspective on space, with abstraction and the universal lines of rationalist constructions as their primary inspiration.
For several years, I explored the pavilions of Madrid’s Casa de Campo, capturing with my camera the modern and regional architectures—unknown structures that seem to speak from their state of neglect. Each one presents the viewer with formal aspects inspired by geometric shapes. Observing the architecture of these pavilions allowed me to deconstruct reality and recompose it through visual collages, drawing inspiration from the spirit of the Bauhaus and abstract art. Their interiors are rich with plasticity: colours, light, strokes, textures, and symbols. Photographing them led me to appropriate their forms and structures, focusing on individual elements and their intersections.
These works explore the relationship between the constructed and the organic, the static and the dynamic. They offer a constellation of fragments from other pieces. Geometry becomes a means of reimagining and revitalising forgotten spaces, transforming them into artistic sanctuaries where simple lines and forms come to life, creating a new aesthetic dialogue between architecture and nature.
